Alzheimer’s disease prediction service (ADPS) of Altoida is “EIT innovation award winner 2018”
Our portfolio company ALTOIDA scores a fantastic achievement as “EIT Innovation Award Winner 2018”
Ioannis Tarnanas, CSO for ALTOIDA, makers of the Alzheimer’s Disease Prediction Service (ADPS), won the EIT Innovation Award, which recognises developers of a product, service or process with a high potential for societal and economic impact.
After a 10-minute test using an iPAD, ADPS can tell if someone will develop Alzheimer’s disease within six years, with an accuracy of 94%. It is estimated that someone in the world develops Alzheimer´s every three seconds but only around 35% of sufferers are diagnosed. Early detection is important because it improves effectiveness of preventive measures.
Ioannis Tarnanas, CSO for ALTOIDA said: “This is probably the most significant award I have received in my career to-date. I am grateful for the recognition of the many years of hard work, determination and sacrifice required in going against the status quo and striving to achieve excellence.”
