From Unicorn status to deployment at scale

Founded in 2016, ZaiNar has developed a positioning technology that uses existing 5G and Wi-Fi networks to locate devices without GPS or additional hardware.

After several years of development, the company stepped into the spotlight in early 2026, announcing a valuation above USD 1 billion and backing from investors including Steve Jurvetson (SpaceX board member), Jerry Yang (co-founder of Yahoo), and Andreas Weigend (former Chief Scientist at Amazon).

Since then, momentum has accelerated.

Over the past months, ZaiNar has started deploying its technology across construction, logistics, healthcare, ports, and defense, enabling real-time tracking of equipment, vehicles, and personnel. The company reports more than USD 500 million in contracts and MOUs. In parallel, it is working with telecom operators and RAN (Radio Access Network) vendors to integrate its solution directly into existing 5G networks.

ZaiNar is now expanding into Asia with the opening of a Tokyo office, after being selected by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government as part of its GX Innovation Program among applicants from 22 countries.
